ISIS

ISIS

(sold)

I made this pendant a while ago, and was holding off listing it in my Etsy store, because I wanted to do some more research on Isis, meaning and power of this sign, and here is what I found:

Isis, the Egyptian goddess of rebirth remains one of the most familiar images of empowered and utter femininity. The goddess Isis was the first daughter of Geb, god of the Earth, and Nut, the goddess of the Overarching Sky. Isis was born on the first day between the first years of creation, and was adored by her human followers.

Unlike the other Egyptian goddesses, the goddess Isis spent time among her people, teaching women how to grind corn and make bread, spin flax and weave cloth, and how to tame men enough to live with them (an art form on which many of us would welcome a refresher course!)

Isis taught her people the skills of reading and agriculture and was worshipped as the goddess of medicine and wisdom.
Isis is one of the only winged deities in Egyptian myth. She is sometimes representative of the wind, as in the legend of Osiris. One version of the legend tells of Isis using her wings to fill Osiris' mouth and nose with air. For those people who recognize Isis as a force at work in their life; the wind takes on a magical face. The simple act of walking outside on a windy day brings about a refreshing of the soul.

Isis is viewed as the protector and patron of women. Isis guided women in childbirth, marriage, and in the loss of loved ones. She has the qualities that endear her to women of all ages. Isis is full of compassion, tenderness, love and devotion. Isis is the Great Mother Goddess.

Isis is the Mistress of all elements, and she is a powerful wind that blows constant. Isis is the ‘Goddess of Countless Names,’ and she will continue to make her presence known.

Business Cards

Bussness style

I am placing an order for business cards and so on at Vistaprint.

What do you think?

i even got a T-Shirt and a hat for some craft shows that I am planning for this year

When it comes to logo and your business cards , it is so important to think about how you would like other peoople to percieve your style. How do you decide whether words or pictures are more effective use of the limited space on a business card?

The first step is to decide how your business cards will be used
  • Where will your cards be distributed?
i will be distributing my cards at craft shows, to everyone I know and enclosed with every order. That's why I decided to go with some examples of my work at the back of the card, so people can remember who i am and what my work looks like.
  • When will you be handing them out?
at the time of the purchase and here and where
  • Who will be receiving them?
my customers and just everyone i know

I decided to go with a simple initial L, no photos or special logos. Simple but fun.
